Gabions & Retaining Structures
Building safe and sturdy retaining structures perfect for your site
What is a gabion and retaining structure?
Gabions are a cost-effective solution and a fast way to create a gravity retaining structure, build a wall, or outline a site boundary. They are functional but can also be built to be aesthetically pleasing structures.
Other retaining structures include:
- pre-cast concrete wall units which may be either free standing or anchored
- reinforced earth walls
- cast in-situ walls
- or sprayed concrete walls.
Retaining structures are often required to restrain an existing ground mass that is causing safety concerns or built in anticipation of backfill at a later date to stay ahead of any potential problems.
